The Bitter-Sweet Connection Between Mind & Emotional Hijack

What was your first thought when you read that news? Irritating?Shocking?Horrifying? Amused? Well, whatever the reaction, it was all a mind game. We have all been terrified by the happenings all around the globe. The main thing is, people have been suffering from physical, emotional, psychological & economic stress. This is mainly due to the emotional hijacking of your mind.

The Current Scenario:- 

Many people have lost their jobs. Not just in India, people all over the world are scared by the simple thought of losing their jobs due to a struggling economy. The lucky ones, who are working under ‘Essential Services’ segments, are living dangerously. The great threat that comes in our mind is ‘what will happen if we lose our loved ones?’. And hence, our emotional hijacking starts.

The Reasons Behind Emotional Hijacking:-

  1. Over-Relaxation:- “What will I do sitting at home? I am going outside, I don’t care if the police beat me up or not”, this is the outcome of immense boredom at home. Relaxation calms your body & soul, but over-relaxation leads to negative thoughts & eventually emotional hijacking.
  2. Hypertension:- This is a common term for everyone to suffer. In this rabbit race, people are going gaga over money but falling short of inner peace. Hypertension leads to unwanted emotional feelings & hijacking happens.
  3. Negative Circle & Vibes:- Swami Vivekananda once said, “What you think, you become”. This quote is absolutely true. Our actions are nothing but the reflection of our thoughts. Due to the negative influence around us, this causes an emotional hijacking of our minds.

Now let us discuss, what are the possible solutions in this lockdown to prevent ‘Emotional Hijacking’:-
  1. Enjoy what you do:- Let there be any kind of work, try to enjoy it as much as possible. We have tons of time in this lockdown, so do those things that amuse you. Be proactive, first seek to understand then to be understood.
  2. Build Positive Environment:- Since surrounding energy affects your mind & soul, be in charge of that situation & create the ocean of positiveness. This is easier said than done though. It will require immense external motivation. For that, you can choose to read books, do some playful activities to cheer you up.
  3. Express Gratitude:- This step is the key to overcome emotional hijacking. Whether you are a billionaire or you are from a simple middle-class family, expressing gratitude always helps you to be down to earth. Eventually, this builds a positive character of yours in society. 
  4. Accept the things as it is:- Do not have unwanted debates, do not fight for what you do not deserve. Your reality may be a flop Hollywood movie but remember time flies too. Always keep in mind that, this is temporary not a permanent scenario. Accept the things & move on.

Positive Mind, Positive Vibes, Positive Life

We will face such disasters from time to time. Humanity will be tested. To face those tricky situations by giving our full heart out is the only possible way. Researches will be done. Counter-arguments will take place. But, hang in there. Do not succumb to false burden & pressure.
